The inspiring, day-long WOMEN IN SCIENCE conference took place in the Liechtenstein Palace in the center of Prague. The event was officially under the patronage of the British Embassy in cooperation with the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the STARS EVENTS team had the privilege of being involved from the very start.
The keynotes and panels featured distinguished names such as Baroness Greenfield — Professor of Physiology at the University of Oxford; Dame Ottoline Leyser — plant biologist and Professor of Plant Development at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Sainsbury Laboratory, Cambridge; Jessica Wade — physicist at Imperial College London; and the headliner, radio astronomer Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell, a Nobel Prize laureate for the discovery of pulsars.
In addition to production, our work included hostess staffing, professional technical delivery, photo documentation, a stylish photo booth, and all graphics and print materials. As the primary visual, we chose a stylized portrait of the British mathematician Ada Lovelace, which will continue to be used at future S&I Network Europe events across Europe.
